The Columbus New Mexico Transfer Station, is an enormous service to the Columbus New Mexico community, serving more than 900 families and the surrounding area in Luna County, who for some years have had a good relationship of working together.   The Transfer Station has 9 containers of 40 cubic yards and freight is transferred to the Deming Landfill from Columbus. Residents that need help with real heavy loads will find that the personnel will use a backhoe to offload those heavy loads. A Recycling plan that includes the purchase of a machine in 2021-22 to grind tree limbs and a glass grinder will help make the environment healthier and residents feel better about their environment.
